WordPress Update: Gutenberg Editor
The Latest Update to WordPress Adds a New Editor
With the latest release of WordPress 5.0 (due out Dec 6th), the default page editor will be replaced with a new page editor called “Gutenberg”.
Gutenberg will add a visual editor with the goal of making editing more visual for website administrators (similar to WIX and Medium websites). The new Gutenberg editor may cause issues with not only how you edit your site but how it works.
We custom design and build WordPress websites using our own visual editor tweaked for each client. Our editor makes it easy to enter content specifically designed for your site without all the complexity of “Page Builders” for WordPress. We think it’s the best of both worlds.
We always recommend updating WordPress for the latest security and best performance, but what do you do about the new Gutenberg?
If you are currently using a “Page Builder” or you are a cdeVision client using our customized editor, we recommend installing the “Classic” editor plugin below. Contact us if you don’t feel comfortable doing this.
If you want to jump into the new world of Gutenberg see more information on features below.

WordPress Classic Editor
Download the WordPress Classic Editor plugin to prevent the new default Gutenberg editor. This plugin also reverts to the classic editor if you have upgraded already. This is recommended for site’s that were built by cdeVision.
