work:

In a nutshell: if you want it, cdeVision can build it. A cornerstone of our philosophy is to achieve the design first and make the technology fit. That means we are expert developers and don't need to sacrifice visual design for someone else's technology. After all, it's all about you!

Project Overview:

An innovative new virtual tour website for Mount Holyoke College.

Rather than the traditional virtual tour approach of QuickTime movies and photo images, we aimed to create an interactive tour so prospective students could get a real idea of what the experience of being at Mount Holyoke College is like, on campus, in the dorm, in the classroom, and out in the surrounding area. We chose to use Flash as a delivery-system because nearly everyone has the Flash browser plug-in (as opposed to Quicktime or RealPlayer which requires download and installation). It allowed us to build and deliver a smooth site with quick download time and multiple animation effects.

Features of the tour include: video and audio clips, image slideshows, an interactive map, and various animation effects. All of these features, including images and text content can be managed and updated via a custom CMS.

This site has been a huge success and has received tremendous positive feedback from visitors and the higher-ed community, and has been cited numerous times as an example of best practices in building college tour websites.
